Your mother wants you to buy this…

Well, maybe not YOUR mother, but THIS mother wants you to buy this. Seriously, I’m going to be absolutely blatant with my product recommendation in this post.

This crap works.

I’ve been using Eco-88 since I very first started managing an upscale doggie daycare over 12 years ago. One of my customers told me to try it and I was skeptical, so I didn’t for over a year. I mean, I’ve used stuff like this before and it NEVER works as advertised. NEVER.

We had a stain at our old house in the guest room where our elderly dog had thrown up on the carpet about a year before. Finally I got tired of seeing it and decided to give a bottle of this stuff a go. I mean, I got an employee discount, right? Why not!

ECO-88 STAIN AND ODOR REMOVER

HOLY COW you guys, it took a YEAR OLD stain RIGHT OUT of the carpet, no scrubbing, no elbow grease, just sprayed in on and in minutes it was gone. It didn’t even bleach out the carpet. CRAZY BUSINESS.

So I started putting it on EVERYTHING. Random 14 year old stain at my parents’ house that had been there since they bought the house? GONE! That one took a little rubbing, but seriously…. FOURTEEN YEAR OLD STAIN….. GONE.

I started recommending it to ALL my customers, and NOT JUST those with dogs, ESPECIALLY those with kids. I had a “Mommy Meet-up” at my house once and one of the kids spilled a juice box on my carpet. The kid’s mom started freaking out and I told her, “don’t worry, I got this”, pulled out my little bottle of magic and it disappeared as about a dozen moms watched in awe and then asked where I got that because it was now a NEED.

Now, I don’t know what’s in this stuff… “enzymes” supposedly. To be honest, I don’t care. IT’S THAT GOOD. I will say though if you get it on your hands and don’t wash them when you’re done with your stain cleaning it will turn your fingertips white (I assume that is said enzymes eating your skin, because, you know, you’re organic and all) but I just don’t bathe in it when I use it so I don’t have that problem. Seriously. Spray, wipe/rub a little if you need to, and let it do its thing. You won’t be disappointed!

Learning as I go.

It’s kind of funny, but I’m starting to realize (yes, I’ve been a parent for almost 5 years now, why do you ask?) that you’re constantly learning and evolving in motherhood/parenthood. I learn lessons every day but I always forget to write them down, which means I generally forget the lesson, repeat my mistake, learn it again, and maybe that time it’ll stick.

Two Lessons I learned today:

Daylight Savings Time will ALWAYS suck when your kids are under 13.

Seriously, we never really had a problem with daylight savings time before. I am not bragging, it just never really was a big deal. For some reason, THIS YEAR SUCKS. It was fine all day Sunday, but Monday was fairly rough with neither kid napping much and both of them being fairy cranky. Then last night I SWEAR they didn’t sleep at all, followed by crap naps for both today, and it’s now 10:15pm at our house and they’re STILL FLOPPING AROUND in their beds. Now listen to me, I love my kids, but enough already! Whoever invented daylight savings time and decided to stick with it was probably a group of dudes who never had kids.

Going to a major attraction, like say, The Crayola Experience, on a rainy day in the middle of Spring Break is just stupid, stupid, stupid.

I got an invite, I didn’t think anything about it except “That should be fun, I bet the kids would love that AND playing with their friends?? Win Win!”

Lose. All around.

It’s a SUPER COOL PLACE, don’t get me wrong, and I’m certain we’ll make frequent use of the season passes I bought us, but hell’s bells people, not on Spring Break, and sure as hell NOT when it’s RAINING on Spring Break. I’ve never seen so many people in my life. It was by far my MOST stressful parenting experience so far in my life. At one point both my kids took off different directions, I lost one, chased the other one, and sighed with relief when I caught him and heard my friend yelling that she had eyes on Tatum. For realz. I don’t know how half those parents didn’t make it home without their kids. Insanity.

Strap that baby to a chair!!

No seriously guys, this one is for all you mamas of little ones out there!

Secure, and mostly happy.

I found this amazing invention on Amazon the other day and wanted to give it a try. I have my beloved “Tie Chair” but to be honest the bulk and complication of the whole thing makes it difficult to take with us to restaurants and whatnot. I get tired of trying to stuff it in a diaper bag or my purse, tired of trying to tie the knots secure enough, and let’s face it. I’m just tired. 😉

This “Cozy Cover” looked interesting, and the price wasn’t bad, so I thought – I’m already buying crap on Amazon so WHY NOT? AMIRIGHT? It came the other day but I didn’t take it out of the box until yesterday to try it out.

ERMAGERD you guys, this thing is super easy to put on the chair, the shoulder straps are nice and secure (much to my son’s annoyance LOL), and it folds up (or stuffs into, if you’re like me) a little tiny pouch that fits in just about any purse or diaper bag. I LOVE IT! Plus it’s machine washable. BONUS.

I seriously hate restaurant high-chairs (if they even HAVE them half the time), because they look like they’ve been through some kind of high school food fight several years back and never cleaned, OR they’re rickety, OR the buckle on the safety strap is broken, OR they’re missing the crotch strap and your son manages to clothesline himself on the waist bar…. (don’t ask me how I know THAT), OR any ungodly combination of the above. This solves all of that – for realz…..

Unless your restaurant has stools with no backs instead of chairs…. if that’s the case, you’re just screwed. Good luck. 😉

STUFF I LOVE!!!!

Two peas in a pod…. or a Keenz.

Headed up to ye ol’ flea market in McKinney this morning with my SAHM bestie Amber and her kiddo.  Since Tatum was in “school” today I just had Wyatt so I decided to take the “Fancy Wagon” – number one because it’s freaking awesome and I love it, and number two because I’m constantly entertained by the amount of attention it gets.  Not the cute kids inside, but the actual stroller.

“Where did you get THAT?” – “That’s the most amazing wagon EVER!” – So on and so forth.  I’ve seriously NEVER had a time I’ve been using it out in public that at LEAST 6 people haven’t stopped me to comment on it or ask questions.

The MOST amazing wagon on Earth!

So we loaded up the adorable kids and set out to enjoy the morning before the cold front sweeps in.

I learned a lesson today – unlike Canton, McKinney Trade Days is NOT really the most amazing flea market on a Friday.

It was kind of “meh” and Wyatt was getting fussy because he’s working on a Man Cold so we headed to lunch and then home.

HOWEVER, even though the flea market was totally a ghost town, that STILL didn’t stop multiple people from commenting and asking about the wagon.  It’s seriously entertaining.

It’s not for the faint of heart price-wise, BUT if you consider what you’d pay for as well made of a double stroller it’s really not that bad.  PLUS it has a ridiculous load of accessories including ceiling fans, rain covers, mosquito netting, coolers (which come included!) etc. that make it so much MORE amazing than it already is!  It has 5 point padded harnesses on both sides AND it’s allowed in Disney.  Enough said!  Check it out here!!!  (Affiliate Link!)

Make sure you check the awesome accessories too!  We have a bunch of them.  LOL

Toilet Troubles

Middle of Nowhere – New Mexico

*PSA- Contains An Affiliate Link*

We just got back Sunday from an awesome little vacation to Angel Fire, NM with me, my hubby, and our four year old daughter.  We left our 18 month old son with the grandparents, because I didn’t think he’d really enjoy being up to at least his waist in snow and 7 degree weather.

Prior to going, I did what all moms do before any vacation involving kids. I panicked.

See, I knew we were going to be in the middle of nowhere for quite a while on our trip, with no usable restrooms in sight, and that’s enough to send any parent of a 3-5 year old into conniptions.

OXO Tot 2-in-1 Go Potty for Travel – Pink

Genius right?  The kid needs to go?  You just pull over, slap a bag in it, and off you go!  Boom.

One little problem though.  My daughter is obsessed with toilets. She dreams to one day use a porta-potty. She gets in trouble at school for asking to go too many times in an hour. She doesn’t have a medical problem, believe me, we’ve checked.

So the potty arrives in that glorious 2 day shipping window, and I took it out of the box and promptly left it on the table to I’d remember to pack it.

Enter 4-year old…..

Her – “Mommy…. what’s that?”

Me – “Um, it’s a travel toilet. See, where we’re going we may not be able to get to a toilet in time so this is for EMERGENCIES ONLY”

Her –  “OH, ok!

Also her, at gymnastics the next day… “HEY Y’ALL, I got a new POTTY!  It’s AMAZING!!!”

*facepalm*

So we start off on part 1 of our split-in-half 10+ hour drive…..

Minute 15: “Mommy, I need to go potty”

Minute 38: “Mommy, I need to go potty”

Every 20-35 minutes for the rest of the drive, both parts, both days…. “Mommy, I need to go potty!!!”

*sigh*  I didn’t need my hubby to tell me “Well, you shouldn’t have told her what that was” because I knew it already – but seriously, she’s not stupid, she knows what a potty looks like.  What else am I supposed to tell her it is?

I’m happy to say…. I won.  We didn’t use the potty once, though there were a few times I got a little nervous and was prepping myself to hop into the back seat of the mini-van and dust that thing off.  Our friends, however, may never travel with us again because out 10+ hour car trip turned into more like 13+ with all the potty breaks.  I AM happy, however, to have that as a backup in the car, because you KNOW there are some questionable places where your kid announces they need to go RIGHT NOW.

*sigh*……. Parenthood.  Isn’t it grand?
