New Unboxings!!

I decided to entertain myself and my 5 year old with some surprise craft boxes from one of my favorite stores, Little Craft Place in Houston (Spring), TX! WOW y’all, were we ever surprised! SO… MUCH… FUN… STUFF! Run, don’t walk, over to that website and get you one – so worth it and so much fun! What a bright spot in our kind of crappy, stuck at home day! She has boxes for adults, and also has boxes made up for girls 4-6yrs, boys 4-6yrs, girls 7&up, and boys 7&up!

First unboxing was Tatum’s. She’s five and LOVES crafts! We didn’t get to open these until later in the evening so she didn’t get to participate in her unboxing video, but she can’t WAIT to start crafting with all this tomorrow, and I even bribed her to go to bed with it. LOL!

And after she went to bed, I unboxed mine! WOW, I swear Eunice must be the world champion at package Tetris because this box is PACKED (I mean, they both were, but wow!) with goodies!

Needless to say, I’ve already jumped on and ordered both of us second boxes. Ha ha ha!! Hope this helps give you some great crafting ideas for both you and your little ones during this social distancing! So happy to see small business thinking **inside** the surprise box, and what a wonderful way to market your business and all the wonderful things you offer once you’re able to safely get out and about! <3

Projects in the works

I’ve been wanting to try “shaker” projects for a while, and actually have had the tools to make them for quite some time and never taken them out of the package! Whoops!

So I sat down last night at my craft table after the kids went to bed and gave it a shot. It sucked. Seriously, I could NOT make that dang fuse tool work to save my life. I got more and more frustrated and finally just gave up and went a different route and laminated the thing so I could say I actually got something done.

But since I stay up late (vicious afternoon nap cycle for the win/lose) I spent some time last night on YouTube trying to figure this thing out. I didn’t find much that was helpful, lots of videos of people using their fuse tool with zero issues (doesn’t help me at all), and finally found this random video of a lady who gave some tips as she had the SAME issues I was having.

This morning I woke up and decided to give it a try…. It’s not perfect, but it was WAY less frustrating than last night’s projects!!

I used this We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool I purchased a while back on Amazon, except instead of using the fuse tip, I used the CUTTING tip, which they don’t bother to tell you ALSO fuses. Woot! I have the silicone mat from We R Memory Keepers, but I really thing the tempered glass surface will do better and provide a cleaner fuse/cut, so that arrives tomorrow. Thank you so much, Amazon Prime. šŸ˜‰

Hope you enjoy today’s project! What is everyone else working on this weekend?

Boho Berry UnBoxing!

I got my Boho Berry Box today and couldn’t wait to unbox it! Ā Unlike my other subscriptions I don’t typically see “sneak peeks” on social media so it’s seriously a complete surprise when I get it and I LOVE that!

There was a wide variety of items in this month’s box, but what peaked my curiosity most was the Faber-Castell Gelatos!

At first I thought they were some sort of chapsticks, but I’m certainly glad I didn’t try that theory before I looked them up! They’re some sort of special crayon called a “pigment stick” and you can use them dry or add water for a watercolor effect!

I’m going to need to figure these bad boys out, so I ordered a beginner’s mixed media kit off of Amazon to give it a try! Because it’s winter and I’m sick of cold and rain, I chose the tropical kit. So sue me šŸ˜‰ (https://amzn.to/2BGyb9t)

Y’all know I love color, so I can’t wait to try these out for addition to my memory keeping/scrapbooking stuff! <3 Check back once I try them out for either some entertaining failures or scrapbooking wins!!
